I need a convertible car seat that will fit in a 2002 4 door Civic and a 2005 extended cab Chevy truck. Safety is a priority of course.
Thanks.

  1. I’ve never seen a car seat for two. You should probably just buy two car sets.

  2. Britax Decathlon! We have 2 civics and one of them is a 2002.

It’s a great carseat and fits perfectly in our civics.

  3. We have a slightly newer 4-door Civic and the bulk of the back seat is taken up by a Cosco Alpha Omega Elite. It’s a nice enough car seat, but there’s no way two would fit in, so — nix on the Alpha Omega.

  4. Britax are great seats. They make a smaller version, Britax Roundabout for smaller cars that are very safe.

I am sure that you know, but Babies R Us offers discounts for parents of multiples for big ticket items like carseats when you buy 2.

  5. We bought a Britax Roundabout based on Consumer reports (it was their top pick). It is very compact at the base, so it will easily fit in a Civic and the back of it isn’t super high, so when it is rear facing you will still have some leg room.

  6. I would try the Radian 65 by Sunshine Kids. It comes highly recommended for safety and it is one of the smaller conv. car seats I have seen. One fits perfectly in our Prius, two would be no problem. It also is the only foldable carseat, if you plan on traveling with it. It is $199 at Wal-Mart.

  7. I have twins and a singleton. I had to find carseats narrow enough to fit three across the back seat of my 530i BMW (not a very big car). My daughter already had a pretty hefty Eddie Bauer car seat that I put in the middle. Then I got two of the Sunshine Kids Radian 80 carseats to put on either side. This was after lots of research on narrow seats. They are very nice quality, super sturdy, will fit your kids from 5 to 80 lbs. and can be rear or forward facing. Probably the only downsides are that they are a bit heavy, and might be a little pricey for some at around $250 each. But, you would be able to use them until your children graduate to regular seat belts. You can see a picture of my back seat with all three seats at

    Hope this was helpful!

  8. Well I can tell you that the britax boulevard is a great seat. Britax in general make great seats so im sure the other versions are just as good but I have only had experience with the boulevard. check out to see a list of there products. Since your going to be looking for 2 you might be able to find them at a decent price on ebay check out for ebay deals.
